Pantomime fun for the whole family
Meanwhile in outer space, Garth Radar, the evil enforcer for the Empire, is searching for a renegade called Duke Skyrunner.
The Edenvale Acting and Drama Society (EADS) will host its most recent pantomime, Little Panto of Horrors, from October 11.
The pantomime is based on the musical piece Little Shop of Horrors.
Flora Flowerpot’s shop is deeply in debt and she is being threatened with eviction by her evil landlord, Willy Weedol.
With the assistance of two idiotic bailiffs, Bill and Ben, Willy wants to demolish her shop and put up a high-rise block of penthouse suites.
Flora’s son Seymour is trying to save the business by creating an exotic plant to draw customers back in, but is having no luck.
Meanwhile in outer space, Garth Radar, the evil enforcer for the Empire, is searching for a renegade called Duke Skyrunner.
However, Duke has hidden onboard a spaceship owned by Marsha the Martian, who has come to Earth to stock up on cheap fuel.
The action moves between Flora’s Flowershop on Earth and a holiday camp on Mars before the final showdown between good and evil back on Earth.
The eventful outcome is influenced by the man-eating plant, Audrey 2, who was left as a gift by Marsha.
The pantomime is cast, directed and choreographed by members of the East Rand community and scripted by LimeLight Scripts.
The show will be onstage on Friday and Saturday night only from October 11 to October 19.
Shows will also be staged on November 1 and 2 with a matinee performance on October 27.
All shows will be performs at St Chad’s Anglican Church situated on the corner of Fourth Street and Eighth Avenue in Edenvale.
