The Jeppe SAPS arrested three men for assault and attempted robbery on October 20.
Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said a police officer was patrolling Jeppestown when he stopped a car.
The driver of the vehicle nearly bumped the police vehicle.
“The police officer exited his van and approached the vehicle. There were three people in the vehicle. Two of the passengers climbed out, attacked the police officer and tried to disarm him.
“He called for assistance and other police officers responded,” said W/O Munyai.
The men were arrested and detained at the Jeppe SAPS.
