Woman raped, arrests made

The Jeppe SAPS arrested two people for a rape that allegedly took place in Jeppestown on November 1.

A woman alleged she was walking along End Street towards the Carlton Centre when a taxi with three men stopped next to her.

“One of the men exited the taxi, grabbed her and pushed her inside the taxi.

“The driver drove to Wolhuter Street in Jeppestown, where the suspects took the woman into a dark room and raped her,” said Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer.

The men left the room and locked the door. They returned later to rape her again. “They kept her until the following morning. The woman opened a case at the Jeppe SAPS. Police officers went to the address she had given and found two suspects still sitting in the taxi. They were arrested and charged with rape,” said W/O Munyai.
