Happy festive season wishes from the mayor

Clr Gungubele took the opportunity to urge all road-users who will be travelling to various destinations for holiday or other purposes during this festive season to drive safely and arrive alive.

Ekurhuleni executive mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele wishes everyone a happy and blessed festive season.

Speaking at the council meeting, in Germiston, on November 26, Clr Gungubele said: “I wish everyone a well-rested and deserved break.

“Have a merry Christmas and a prosperous, fulfilling and healthy 2014.”

He thanked councillors for their leadership and support throughout the year, each official, from the senior management led by the city manager Khaya Ngema to the most junior official, for the part they have played in ensuring that “we continue to render quality and sustainable services to our people”.

“I would be making a grave mistake if I did not mention all our stakeholders and the community at large for always pointing us in the right direction when we looked like we were losing focus,” said the mayor.

“Indeed, together we had a brilliant year and can certainly do more going forward.”

Clr Gungubele took the opportunity to urge all road-users who will be travelling to various destinations for holiday or other purposes during this festive season to drive safely and arrive alive.

“The roads will be busy this time of the year and, therefore, please drive with caution – the country needs you,” he said.
