St Andrew’s School for Girls swimmer and pupil, Erin Anderson, was selected to represent South Africa at the Junior African Championships in Lusaka, Zambia.

She competed in the championships from November 28 until December 1.

The 14-year-old St Andrews Dragons Swimming Club member achieved a silver and three gold medals. She also broke the event record for the 13 to 14 age group 100m breast stroke.

Erin was also selected to be part of the Get the Girls to Gold, an initiative put together by Swim South Africa and the Mari Clair Magazine, to get more girls to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

Erin is the 13-year-old national record holder and national champion in 50m, 100m and 200m breast stroke in her age group. Her dream is to get to the 2016 Olympic Games.
