Foetus found on Francis Street

A cleaning crew was going about their duties when they came across a plastic bag. Inside it was a foetus. The police were alerted immediately and went to the scene.

A case of concealment of birth has been opened at the Yeoville SAPS after a municipal worker discovered a foetus while sweeping along Frances Street.

The discovery, which happened on February 7, has left members of the community with more questions than answers.

“A cleaning crew was going about their duties when they came across a plastic bag. Inside it was a foetus. The police were alerted immediately and went to the scene.

No arrests have been made and a case of concealment of birth has been opened,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville SAPS.
