‘Love yourself’, Debs tell Wedge patients

The girls decided to lend some emotional support to the people undergoing substance abuse rehabilitation at the Rand Aid Association treatment centre, and their message of ‘love yourself’ was well received.

Holy Rosary School Grade 10 Debutantes, Andrea Nel (16) and Nolene Chetty (15), gave a new meaning to Valentine’s Day when they visited the patients of the Wedge Gardens Treatment Centre on Friday, February 14.

The girls decided to lend some emotional support to the people undergoing substance abuse rehabilitation at the Rand Aid Association treatment centre, and their message of ‘love yourself’ was well received. The patients were extremely appreciative and willing to interact positively with the girls, who handed out sweet treats and spent some time chatting to the patients.

The Debutantes’ programme at Holy Rosary is largely focused on raising money for charity and the Holy Rosary Outreach Programme. Andrea and Nolene’s initiative was aligned with another project supported by the school, which is the Edenvale SAPS, Edenvale Community Forum and Karaglen Spar’s Tiles 4 Change programme, which is aimed at getting support from the community and schools in order to declare Edenvale a drug-free zone.
