A man was arrested in connection with a murder that took place in Bertrams on March 6.
Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said police officers received a call about a murder that occurred in Melbourne Street.
“On arrival the officers found the body of a 30-year-old man lying on the floor.
“Witnesses alleged that there was an argument between the suspect and victim. The suspect drew a firearm, shot the man and fled. They said the suspect shot the man in the back and he died,” said W/O Munyai.
A firearm was found at the scene.
A case of murder was opened at the Jeppe SAPS and a 24-year-old man was arrested.
