Woman arrested for possession of stolen vehicle

The arrest occurred after an on-duty officer stopped a VW Polo for an inspection on the R14 highway.

A woman was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle on Friday, March 7.

According to the Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, the arrest occurred after an on-duty officer stopped a VW Polo for an inspection on the R14 highway.

“The officer asked the driver if he could search the vehicle. When the driver granted permission, the officer found that the license disc of the vehicle was suspect. When the officer tried to confirm the information on the disk, it was found that the disk was a counterfeit. The vehicle has also been reported as stolen from Dobsonville,”said Sgt Nhlabathi.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and was taken in for questioning.

The suspect has already appearing in the Edenvale Court.
