The Jeppe SAPS arrested three men for armed robbery on March 30.
Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the Jeppe SAPS communications officer, said a man claimed he was walking with his girlfriend at the corner of Gus and Fox streets in Jeppestown when they were approached by three men.
Two of the men were in possession of knives.
“The men stabbed the woman and took her handbag and cellular phones,” said W/O Munyai.
The man chased after the suspects and, with the help of the community, arrested the suspects.
Police officers were alerted and the woman was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
The suspects, aged 20, 26 and 28, were arrested and charged with armed robbery.
They will appear in court soon.
