Two arrested for possession of dangerous weapon

Two men were arrested for the possession of dangerous weapons in Yeoville.

The arrests were made at the corner of Bedford and Hopkins streets on April 27.

“The police were on routine patrol in the early hours of the morning, monitoring a number of hot-spots in the area. They came across two men standing at a corner who were acting suspicious,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville SAPS.

According to Const Malatji, the officers searched the men and found a knife and a screwdriver in their possession.

“The men were arrested and are expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrates Court soon,” said Const Malatji.
