Resident turns 99

They were among the first residents of the newly established Tarentaal Rand Aid Association Retirement Village, in Lyndhurst.

Mrs Grace Snook celebrated her 99th birthday on Sunday, May 18.

Mrs Snook was born in Southern Rhodesia in 1915, during World War I. She has two children, raised by herself and her late husband, Cecil..

They were among the first residents of the newly established Tarentaal Rand Aid Association Retirement Village, in Lyndhurst.

Mrs Snook stays active by cheering on her favourite sports teams and players. She also still does a bit of gardening and because she values good health, she enjoys cooking for herself.

“I have been richly blessed and have met such lovely people during my years at Tarentaal,” she said.

Mrs Snook has three grandchildren but not great-grandchildren as yet.
