A man was arrested for possession of stolen property in Yeoville.

The arrest took place at the Yeoville SAPS Client Service Centre (CSC) on Monday, May 26.

“The suspect went to the CSC to meet a potential buyer of his cellular phone. When they buyer arrived, he requested that the serial number of the cellular phone be checked, before he would buy it,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS. According to Const Malatji, it was then discovered that the cellular phone was reported stolen.

“The suspect was arrested and detained for possession of stolen property and is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon facing charges of theft,” said Const Malatji.
