A 19-year-old Yeoville woman was arrested for defeating the ends of justice.
The arrest took place at the corner of Yeo and Fortesque streets on Thursday, May 22.
“Members of the Hillbrow Detective branch were following up on information regarding a docket of attempted murder committed in the Hillbrow precinct. They received information that the firearm used in the commission of the crime was hidden in a flat in Yeoville,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.
According to Const Malatji, the police proceeded to the flat and found a woman who was said to be hiding the firearm.
“She pointed out where she had concealed the firearm in a plastic bag. She informed the police the suspect had instructed her to do it. She was arrested and is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court, facing charges of defeating the ends of justice,” said Const Malatji.
