EMPD headquarters relocating

The choice to move is a strategic decision that law enforcement be located in close proximity to the nucleus of the Aerotropolis of OR Tambo International Airport, which is a key national point.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Headquarters in Hawley Road, Bedfordview, began the relocation process to Kempton Park on May 23.

The relocation to the corner of Long Street and Margaret Avenue in Kempton Park is expected to be complete by the end of June this year.

According to the EMPD spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, “The choice to move is a strategic decision that law enforcement be located in close proximity to the nucleus of the Aerotropolis of OR Tambo International Airport, which is a key national point.”

“The move will include the relocation of the top management team and its essential sub-divisions,” said Chief Supt Kgasago. @BedfordJourno
