A 42-year-old woman was arrested for a spate of crimes committed over a period of four years.
She was nabbed at the corner of Bezuidenhout and Natal streets on Friday, June 13.
“The police were conducting a stop and search operation when they stopped a vehicle with three occupants inside. While searching the occupants, a morpho touch device was used to scan fingerprints. One the women who was inside the vehicle tested positive on the system,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.
According to Const Malatji, the woman was a wanted suspect for 18 criminal offences.
“The crimes ranged from shoplifting to theft in different policing areas. She has been sought for criminal offences committed in areas such as Fairland, Vanderbijl Park and Littleton in Pretoria,” said Const Malatji.
He said all 18 criminal offences had warrants of arrests issued.
“The suspect used different names in all criminal offences. She is expected to appear in the various courts soon,” said Const Malatji.
