Edenvale models crowned at Miss Johannesburg

Ms Mayne is a formed Edenvale High School pupil and a teacher at Acacia Kids Pre-Primary.

Edenvale resident, Ms Sasha Leigh Mayne, was crowned Miss Johannesburg on Saturday evening, June 14, at an event themed Fire and Ice.

The annual event, hosted at Engedi in the Cradle of Mankind, boasted judges like talent scout and former Sewende Laan actress Ms Elsubie de Lange and Mr South Africa finalist, Mr Jaco Gerrits.

Ms Mayne is a formed Edenvale High School pupil and a teacher at Acacia Kids Pre-Primary.

She has modelled at House of Style for 11 years.

Ms Mayne believes that all young ladies have the ability to help the less fortunate and she is actively involved in the Edenvale Community.

The Edenvale-based House of Style boasted three models in the top five finalists this year, Ms Jasmine Grundlingh, the reigning Miss Edenvale being placed as second princess and Ms Kirsten Borner, Miss Edenvale Care Centre, was placed fourth out of 25 entrants.

Part of Ms Mayne’s duties as Miss Johannesburg will be to assist with the setting up of an educational centre for underprivileged children in Boksburg North.
