Two men were arrested for burglary of a business premises in Yeoville.
The incident took place at the corner of Raleigh and Bedford streets on Saturday, June 28.
“The police received a call from the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) control centre, who had witnessed the incident via Close Circuit Television (CCTV) footage,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.
According to Const Malatji, the footage shows two suspects in the act of breaking into a KFC outlet.
“The police proceeded to the scene and found two men breaking the security gate of the premises. They were apprehended and detained at the Yeoville SAPS. The suspects were charged with breaking into a business premises,” said Const Malatji.
The men are expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon facing charges of business burglary.
