Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said a man alleged he was walking to the settlement when he was approached by five men. One of the men dragged him while another hit him in the face with a brick.
“The other three suspects assaulted him and stabbed him with a knife. They took money and a cellular phone,” said Const Mashakane.
A case was opened for investigation and one man (18) was arrested.
