Gate motor thieves charged with burglary

Two men arrested in Edenvale yesterday have been charged with burglary after their victim identified goods taken from her property.

The two men arrested in Edenvale yesterday in connection with gate motor thefts have also been charged with burglary.

When the owner of the house arrived at the Edenvale Police Station late yesterday afternoon, she was able to identify several items which the men had taken from her garage.

This comes after they were also positively linked to a case in Bedfordview in April.

“We believe the two can be connected to several other cases including several in Glen Marais in Kempton Park,” acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts said.

He urged anyone who may have fallen victim to similar thefts to contact the Edenvale SAPS Detective branch on 011 553 8632 urgently.

Yesterday, crime prevention officers from the Edenvale SAPS arrested two men after they stole a gate motor from a house in the Avenues.
