“He calls young girls to his car and when they go, he is masturbating in the driver’s seat,” the teenage girl said.

A terrified school girl has contacted the NEWS with regards to a man she believes to be a sexual predator driving around Edenvale.

“He calls young girls to his car and when they go, he is masturbating in the driver’s seat,” the teenage girl said.

According to the young girl, who cannot be named, the man has been spotted on several occasions outside primary and high schools in Edenvale.

He was last spotted in the Edenglen area.

The description of the man given by the young girl suggests he could be in his late 50’s to early 60’s. He is a white male and drives a silver Kia, either a Sportage or Sorento.

“My friends have seen him at other schools. He approached me in the Edenglen area,” she said.

After the NEWS received the frightened young girl’s phone call, contact was made with the Edenvale SAPS.

“Officers were immediately despatched to the last known location of the man. Unfortunately, he was not caught,” said the acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts.

He urged young girls walking to and from school to be careful.

“If anyone you do not know approaches or calls you to their vehicle, ignore them and walk in the opposite direction,” he said.

“Tell a police officer, school teacher or parent immediately and try to remember as many details of the man and the car,” said Lt Col Roberts.

Anyone who is approach in a similar manner should contact the Edenvale SAPS immediately.
