One suspect was arrested but two managed to flee, following a robbery that took place on the corner of Harley and Grafton streets in Yeoville on Saturday, July 26.

“The victim was walking along Harley Street when three men pushed him to a corner. One suspect pulled out a knife and proceeded to rob him of his cellular phone and cash,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.

According to Const Malatji, the suspects walked away and the victim was able to alert the police.

“The officers reacted swiftly and one of the suspects was arrested a few blocks away from the scene. The other two suspects are still at large but more arrests are expected to be made soon,” said Const Malatji.

He said the arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of armed robbery. @JoburgJourno
