The SAPS confirmed the arrest of a Palestinian national for possession of several illegal firearms during a protest held by the Jewish Voices for a Just Peace (JVJP) outside the Huddle Park Golf Course in Club Street, Linksfield, on Sunday, August 3.

The arrest was made by the SAPS after the man was found with a rifle, revolver, shotgun and three knives in his possession.

Overall, Ms Rina King described the protests a successful one against a pro-Israeli rally.

“We hope for a long lasting ceasefire and an end to this violence. More than that, we hope for a long-term peace in Israel and Palestine. A peace that can only be achieved through compassion, justice and redress, genuine negotiation and dialogue,” said Ms King. @JoziReporter
