Man nabbed for perjury

After the Bedfordview SAPS conducted investigations, it was found the man was lying about the truck hijacking.

The Bedfordview SAPS confirmed the arrested of a man for perjury after he opened a case claiming his truck was hijacked on Edenvale Road on August 1.

The man claimed that an Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) officer stopped his truck demanding to see his driver’s license. The man alleged that the officer pointed a firearm at him and told him to sit in the passenger seat.

The officer then entered the vehicle via the driver’s side door.

According to the man, the EMPD officer drove around with him and ordered him to exit the vehicle in the Cleveland area.

After the Bedfordview SAPS conducted investigations, it was found the man was lying about the truck hijacking.

Officers located the truck at the man’s home at Rabasotho, Tembisa. The suspect was arrested for perjury. @BedfordJourno
