Spring book sale to take place

The library will be open during the morning which will give members an opportunity to browse the shelves for new books.

The Friends of Modderfontein Library will hold a Spring Book Sale from 9am to 1pm outside the Library in Queen Street, Modderfontein, on Saturday, September 6.

According to Mr Dale Cherrington, “Generous donations of books have recently been received and these will be on sale at bargain prices. Books available will include novels by popular authors, craft and cook books, children’s books, non-fiction and popular teen romances.”

The library will be open during the morning which will give members an opportunity to browse the shelves for new books.

“Members of the public who wish to join the Modderfontein Library will be most welcome. Membership is free and all that is required is proof of residence and a copy of your ID,” said Mr Cherrington.

The book sale will feature a story time running in the library from 10am to 11am in which members of the Friends will read stories to local children.

“There is no cost for this service and families are encouraged to bring their children for an hour of fantasy,” said Mr Cherrington.

The Friends of Modderfontein Library is a voluntary group and new members are welcome. If you are interested, talk to the volunteers on Saturday or to the librarian.
