Constable Mpho Mashakane, the Cleveland SAPS communications officer, said a man alleged that he was driving a truck on Lower Germiston Road on August 21 at about 6.30am when he was stopped by a person wearing a police uniform.
“The suspect asked for cross border papers and while they were still busy, the driver of a green Fiat stopped close by. The suspects forced the victim into the car,” said Const Mashakane.
The suspects dropped the man off in Duduza and fled the scene with the truck and the trailer loaded with tobacco valued at R900 000.
