Tracker signal leads SAPS to hijacked vehicle

The tracking device in the vehicle led officers to an address in Yeoville

A man was arrested for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle in Yeoville.

The arrest took place at the corner of Hopkins and Cavendish streets on Saturday, August 30.

“The police received information about a vehicle that was hijacked in Soweto. The tracking device in the vehicle led officers to an address in Yeoville. On arrival, they found a man sitting inside the vehicle,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.

According to Const Malatji, the man was arrested for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle and is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon. @JoburgJourno
