Six windscreen washers appear in court

No person shall, display, offer for sale any goods; on a or along side a public road.

Six windscreen washers arrested at Greenstone Shopping Centre yesterday will appear in the Edenvale Magistrate’s Court this morning.

The men have been charged under regulations 316 and 322 of the Road Traffic Act.

Under regulation 316, no pedestrian on a public road shall conduct himself or herself in such a manner likely to constitute a source of danger to himself or herself or to other traffic which is, or may be on such road.

Under regulation 322, no person shall, display, offer for sale or deliver pursuant to a sale, any goods; on a or along side a public road inside an urban area, within 180 metres of a railway crossing or any other road traffic sign.

Acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts, could not confirm whether any of the six men arrested had previous criminal convictions.

“That information will only be disclosed in the court procedure,” Lt Col Roberts said.
