EMM to celebrate Abor month

The project is aimed at having 11 000 trees planted throughout the EMM, in an effort to create an urban forest in order to combat the negative effects of climate change.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) plans on taking going green to another lever with it mass tree planting initiative, titled 11 000 Trees in 11 Minutes in 101 Wards.

The tree planting initiative forms part of the EMM’s September Arbor month celebrations.

The project is aimed at having 11 000 trees planted throughout the EMM, in an effort to create an urban forest in order to combat the negative effects of climate change.

Arbor month is celebrated annually and is aimed at highlighting the importance of trees and encouraging South Africans to become environmental activists by taking part in greening initiatives.
