Skateboarding for hope
Skaters competed for their share of the prize money and for a wild card entry into the amateur division of the KDC world championship event, which will take place in Kimberley from October 2 to 5.
More than 80 local skaters competed for the Kimberley Diamond Cup (KDC) Skateboarding for Hope event at the Boogaloos Skatepark at Stoneridge Shopping Centre recently.
Skaters competed for their share of the prize money and for a wild card entry into the amateur division of the KDC world championship event, which will take place in Kimberley from October 2 to 5.
Trae Rice from Randburg used his local knowledge of the park, which consists of transitions and banks, to prove his dominance in the 17 years and older category.
Brandon Valjalo’s performance stood out on the stairs obstacles and he finished in second place. Emmanual Mahkananiza took third place.
14-year-old Jeremy Stone from Douglasdale was the stand out skater with his tricks in the U/16 division.
Richard Price and Philani Ntsomi finished second and third respectively in the U/16 division. @BedfordJourno
