Suspect sought for concealment of birth

The Yeoville SAPS is searching for a woman in connection with a concealment of birth case.

A foetus was found at the corner of Kenmere and Webb streets on Tuesday, September 9.

“The police received a complaint from residents regarding a foetus at the street. On arrival, police officers found a foetus wrapped inside a plastic bag,” said Constable Mpho Mashakane, of the Cleveland SAPS.

According to Const Mashakane, paramedics were called to the scene and the foetus was certified dead.

“We are looking for the culprit and anyone with information that could lead to an arrest is urged to come forward and contact the Yeoville SAPS on 011 487-5921/2,” said Const Mashakane.
