Man wanted for house breaking

The victim, Ms Sandra Williams, said they hired Frank Harrison Banda after seeing an advertisement in the newspaper. He has worked for the family for nearly a month.

The Edenvale SAPS is looking for a man in connection with a house breaking in Edenvale.

The man, believed to be a Malawian national, worked as a gardener at a home in Edenvale. It is alleged that he broke into his employer’s home and took several items.

The incident took place on Thursday, September 18, at about 6pm.

The victim, Ms Sandra Williams, said they hired Frank Harrison Banda after seeing an advertisement in the newspaper. He has worked for the family for nearly a month.

“The suspect looks innocent. I just want people to be on the lookout so they don’t find themselves in the same situation,” said Ms Williams.

Two television sets, jewellery and ID documents were stolen.

Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts confirmed that a case was opened at the Edenvale SAPS. A warrant of arrest has been issued.

Warrant Officer De Beer issued a warning to the public to be careful when hiring people from newspaper adverts, especially foreign nationals.

He also added that Banda’s image will be added onto the database of the most wanted people.

No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
