
The Jeppe SAPS is urging residents to be more vigilant due to a recent spate of vehicle hijackings.
In recent months, there has been an increase of hijackings in areas like Bezzvalley, Betrams and Kensington.
Residents are advised to be on the lookout for suspicious vehicles and people in their vicinity and driveways.
Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi advised residents to drive away and if possible, press a hooter to attract attention if approached by an unknown person.
If your vehicle is bumped from behind and you are suspicious, drive away to the nearest police station.
He also advised people to not to pick up hitch-hikers.
