Body of homeless man unclaimed by family

The man was 40-years-old and worked as a car guard on Van Riebeeck Avenue.

They body of an Edenvale homeless man, discovered in July, has still not been claimed by his family.

According to the corporate communications officer for the Edenvale SAPS, Warrant Officer Jean Olckers, the man’s body was found at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Third Street on July 26.

“The man was 40-years-old and worked as a car guard on Van Riebeeck Avenue,” said W/O Olckers.

The cause of the man’s death, as well as his name, is known to the SAPS.

An inquest docket was opened following the discovery of his body.
