Screaming children woke the mother

A woman was woken by the screams of her children during the house robbery at her house on Langerman Street in Kensington on Wednesday, October 29 after 2am,

Cleveland SAPS communication officer, Constable Mpho Mashsakane said that the woman’s two children screamed when they woke up and noticed that there were five men in the house.

“The woman saw five men, two of whom had firearms in their hands when she woke up. On the men had a bolt cutter. The men then tied the woman and the children before they ransack the house,” Const Mashakane said.

She said the men took jewellery, cellular phones and drove off in a woman’s car.

She said that the men gained entrance by forcing the back door by opening it with the bolt cutter.

Const Mashakane said car was found abandoned after 4am, at the fire station on Langerman Street with some of the stolen items in it.
