A suspect has been arrested and charged with murder following a shooting outside the Eastgate Shopping Centre.

According to information received, the arrest was made by officers from the Jeppe SAPS.

The Bedfordview SAPS confirmed that a man was shot and killed outside the Eastgate Shopping Centre late last night.

Details of the incident remain sketchy, but it is believed the man was shot while driving.

“The man’s vehicle collided with a street pole. When officers arrived, they saw the man had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene,” said Bedfordview journalist, Duenna Mambana.
