A woman was woken up by the screams of her children during a house robbery at her home on Langermann Drive in Kensington on Wednesday, October 29.
The robbery took place in the early hours of the morning.
The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the woman’s two children screamed when they woke up and noticed five men in the house.
“The woman saw five men, two of whom had firearms, when she woke up. On the men had a bolt cutter. The men then tied the woman and the children up before they ransack the house,” said Const Mashakane.
She said the men took jewellery, cellular phones and drove off in the woman’s car.
She said that the men gained entry by forcing the back door open and cutting the lock with the bolt cutters.
Const Mashakane said car was found abandoned after 4am, at the fire station along Langermann Drive with some of the stolen items in it.
