The Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court also declared the men unfit to possess a firearm.

The two men who robbed a bank in Yeoville in June last year, were sentenced to 17 and 15 years in jail respectively.

The Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court also declared the men unfit to possess a firearm.

According to Const Malatji, the men robbed a bank in Raleigh Street.

“The men ordered the clients and bank employees to lie down. They took money and fled the scene. An intensive investigation led to the men being arrested a few days later,” he said.

Const Malatji said Thulani Mkhize was sentenced to 17 years and Khumbulani Shezi was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
