Duenna is ready to tackle Bedfordview news

In January 2013, Duenna took up a position with Caxton’s Midrand Reporter as news editor.

Bedfordview resident and dedicated journalist, Duenna Mambana, has taken the reigns of covering the news in Bedfordview.

Duenna is passionate about community journalism and believes her “never back down” approach to news is just what Bedfordview needs.

She was born in Bushbuck Ridge, bordering the Kruger Park, and still regards the area as her favourite holiday destination.

Duenna studied journalism in Pretoria and during her holidays she worked with Caxton’s award winning Lowveld Media.

In 2010 she was permanently appointed as a journalist with the publication and she continued her studies part-time.

In January 2013, Duenna took up a position with Caxton’s Midrand Reporter as news editor.

She was then appointed as the northern hub’s news editor at the North Eastern Tribune.

“I am a hard news type of girl and I do not back down,” said Duenna.

She added that her passion for community journalism will see her being a true watchdog for the community.

Duenna is also a mother and wife, and regards these roles as highly as she does journalism.

Duenna can be contacted on 011 609-4966, or 082 733 6282, or via e-mail at duennam@caxton.co.za
