Jeppe girls continue Christmas tradition

The service involves the school choir singing Christmas carols and a selection of girls on stage in a Tableau, enacting nativity scenes to give a visual representation of the Nine Lessons.

Jeppe High School for Girls hosted the Festival of Nine Lessons Carol Service and Tableau on December 4 at the school.

The service is an annual tradition at Jeppe Girls, which started in 1945.

The service involves the school choir singing Christmas carols and a selection of girls on stage in a Tableau, enacting nativity scenes to give a visual representation of the Nine Lessons.

Despite the load shedding, the event was well attended and people were singing along as the choir performed songs, which have also been recorded on a CD.

The CD was on sale on the night.
