According to Constable Thabo Malatji, from the Yeoville SAPS, police officers were on a routine patrol when they searched a man and found a cellular phone. The phone had been reported as stolen.
The suspect informed the officers that it belong to his friend who was sleeping a few blocks away.
Const Malatji said the officers proceeded to the address given and found the suspect, still asleep.
The officers searched the suspect and found a driver’s licence in his possession which had been stolen during a vehicle theft.
The suspects were arrested and detained at the Yeoville SAPS.
They are expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
