Two men arrested for arm robbery

Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane said that a man was walking on Jules Street in Malvern when he was attacked from behind by the men.

A man was arrested while looking for his friend at the police station on Saturday, January 24.

This came after three men robbed another man at knife point just after 11pm on the day.

The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said a man was walking along Jules Street in Malvern when he was attacked from behind by the suspects.

“They grabbed him and one of the suspects pointed a knife at him while the others searched him. They took his cellular phone and fled the scene,” said Const Mashakane.

She added that after the men fled the scene, a patrolling police vehicle appeared.

“The officers stopped and the victim told the officers what had happened. The officers followed the description given to them and managed to arrest one of the men. While police officers were doing the paperwork as part of detaining the man, his friend arrived looking for him. He was identified by the man that was robbed as one of his attackers and was also arrested,” she said.
