Sacred Heart College’s grade 9 pupil, Lula Pam-Grant, has been invited to the South African National Debating team trials, which will be held in April.
Last year, Lula was selected to represent her school at the debating trials for the Gauteng provincial team.
Sacred Heart College’s English teacher and head of debate, Ms Claire Baker, said Lula was selected to the Gauteng Junior Provincial team which won the Junior National Schools Debating Championships in Stellenbosch at the end of last year.
“We are so proud of Lula as she is part of the National Debating Team. It has always been clear that she enjoys debating and having fun is a great start. She also shows us what is possible when you combine the love of something with hard work, practice and the commitment necessary to become successful at it,” she said.
