The State of the City Address, will report back on progress in the implementation of the City’s Growth and Development Strategy 2040, as well as provide an outline of the direction of the strategy that the city is taking forward.
The Speaker of Council, Councillor Constance Bapela says, “The City encourages citizens of Johannesburg to be part of the speech and to take interest in the SOCA, which stands out as one of the most important feedback platform of the year.”
Residents will be able to listen to the speech live on the following community radio stations: Alex FM, Eastwave FM, Eldos FM, Jozi FM, Mix/Midrand FM, Radio Today AM, Thetha FM, Lenz FM, Rainbow FM, Voice of Wits (VoW) FM and UJ FM. The speech can also be watched on Soweto TV, Channel 251 on DSTV.
This year’s SOCA will be shown live at the following public viewing areas: Sarafina Park in Diepsloot; Pennsville Park in Pennyville; Tanzania Park at Tanzania Road in Cosmo City; Thokoza Park in Rockville Soweto; Juskei 1 Park in Alexandra; Joubert Park at Central Johannesburg and Orange Farm Regional Park in Orange Farm.
Stations Kaya FM, Power FM, Ukhozi FM and Lesedi FM will host an analysis of the speech.
