Doctor clocks 214km/h on N3

A 29-year-old doctor was locked up for speeding on Sunday after he was caught travelling at 214km per hour.

He was arrested along with six other motorists on the N3 between the Modderfontein turnoff and Linksfield.

According to Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department spokesperson, Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, the doctor was driving a BMW sedan at a speed of 214km/h, allegedly rushing to the hospital.

The other drivers were also arrested for driving above the speed limit of 120km per hour.

“Those arrested were granted bail. All seven were charged at the Edenvale Police Station for reckless and negligent driving,” said Chief Supt Kgasago.
