Show set to highlight feline beauty

Calling all cats lovers for exhibition.

The Cat Fanciers’ Club of South Africa is are calling all cat lovers.

The club will be hosting a championship show sponsored by pet food manufacturer Royal Canin.

The event will take place on June 6 and 7 at the Jabula Recreation Centre, on the corner of Anne Street and Athlone Avenue in Sandringham.

Saturday’s show will include a showcase of different cats, both well-known and unfamiliar.

The cats will be judged in their assorted classes.

The main event of the day will be judged at 3pm, for the best cats in the various sections.

The Sunday event will combine a smaller show for kittens and unregistered household pets only.

This is for selected breeds, such as Persians, British and Maine Coons, among other varieties.

Approximately 150 entries are expected with a variety of cats to show.

The event will be officiated by a number of Gauteng judges.

The experience may encourage new cat owners and will give more insight on owning a cat.

A number of cat-related products will also be exhibited.
