Mr Gerard Mavian, a resident in Gibson Road, Hurlyvale, objected to the intention of a homeowner to run three businesses from one property.
Comment was received on June 26 from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) regarding the matter.
It was confirmed that business rights for the property in question have not yet been granted.
“A consent use application was submitted on April 23. The application was for a place of instruction; a crèche, karate and dancing classes,” said the EMM’s spokesperson and senior manager, Mr Thembe Gadebe.
“The application is still in circulation and has not been finalised yet. Two objections have been received so far,” said Mr Gadebe.
