Local lass shines oversees

Local resident Ashley Willows returned from her trip to Los Angeles on July 22.

Ashley, together with her team members, competed in the World Championships of Performing Arts.

The event was held in Long Beach, California. The competition had representatives from 42 countries.

Ashley competed in the 18 to 24 age category for modeling.

She competed against 23 girls from around the world and made it through to the second round, which consisted of over 50 senior models.

Ashley was awarded a silver medal for her modeling performance in casual runway and a bronze for spokes model.

She also received an industry award and enjoyed the opportunity of working with fashion photographer Eugene Biscardi.
