Dress up and support Casual Day.

Colour it up this year on Casual Day.

Many South Africans are familiar with Casual Day, which is celebrated every year.

This year, Casual Day will be held on September 4.

The project is owned by the National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities in SA (NCPPDSA), which is based in Edenvale.

Members of the community are encouraged to dress up and participate as the R10 donations will go towards providing education, job creation, transport, assistive devices and emotional support to people with disabilities.

“We are ecstatic about the response from South Africans to the project. With the world economy in turmoil, and a decline in funding for NGOs from corporations and government, Casual Day is going from strength to strength, raising R28-million in 2014.

“Casual Day is a lifeline for many organisations of people with disabilities,” said Ms Therina Wentzel, the national director of the NCPPDSA.

The theme is Spring into Action.

“People are welcome to wear floral or animal prints, anything with lots of colour, or you can wear the Casual Day official golf shirt that can be bought from one of the local organisations,” said Ms Andrea Vinassa, the media coordinator.
