School donates treats for animals
A lot of food and blankets were collected, via donations, for the animals.
Pupils from Edenglen Primary School raised funds for International Homeless Animals Day (IHAD).
Ms Charmain Studer, a teacher at the school, said it was a school fundraising project in celebration of IHAD.
Members from the Paws R Us organisation visited the school on August 14.
A lot of food and blankets were collected, via donations, for the animals.
“We are excited because it is an opportunity to talk about many animal issues. Informing the children of today is beneficial because they are our future society,” said Ms Chantelle Murray, the director of Paws R Us.
Mr Warren Davis, from the K9 Conservation Unit, said a large part of what they do is to educate the children and inform them about the importance of protecting wildlife.
“I have moved my attention solely to the protection of endangered species. There is more belief in products that aren’t useful rather than the animals and what there is to know about them. Therefore, we set out to ensure that people, especially children, are made aware of these issues,” said Mr Davis.
